I am a single mom with 4 kids, 2 girls (34, 20) and 2 boys (28, 15).  I have 2 fur dogs, 4 fur grand dogs and a son in love.  

I am 48 years old and live in North Carolina.  By profession I am a career counselor and transition coach. 

I am "famous" among my friends for a few things:  Coffee, Coupons and Jesus. In the Spirit I am a worshipper.  I love the Lord.  With all of my heart and I am convinced that He loves me.  

The Lord called  me into ministry, although I didn't know it then and fought it really, in 2011.  All I knew is that there was "something" I needed to do for the Lord.  I didn't know what it was NOR WHY He called me.  Who was I that He would be mindful of me.  Little did I know the Lord had so many "things" that He would have me do.  All these years later I am STILL unpacking the "what" but I am ALL IN for WHATever with Him.  

My children have done something I never thought they would.  They have risen up and called me blessed just like in Proverbs 31:28.  I ascribe to that lifestyle. To live holy before the Lord and the people He has given me to shepherd.  

We have a small farmstead where we cook, can, preserve, do all things mom life and budget. 1mom was a God idea that started in my kitchen in 2014. I have loved having so many of you grab a cup of coffee and hang out with me in my home.

What does 1mom2girls2boys8inall stand for?

Haha.  This is a question we get very often.  Some people don't trust me in budgeting because they don't think I can count.  Well I assure you that I can.  Yes.  1 + 2 + 2 = 5.  I am well aware BUT when you add in The Father, The Son and Holy Spirit you go get 8.  We are a faith based family that KNOW, without a shadow of a doubt, that it is the Lord that helps me do everything I am able to do with and for my family.  

What kind of training did you need?

I was called to the ministry and while I believe that when the Lord calls you He equips you for the work I do believe in getting some training.  

I began taking courses at the Ramp School of Ministry in 2013.  I was an online, self paced student.  I took several courses until I was invited into the leadership program at my church iLead.  iLead was an intensive 2 year program in preparation for 5 fold ministry.  

In 2017 I enrolled into Christ College RDU, another online program, where I received my practical theology degree in September 2019.

I did my trial sermon in December 2014 and have been preaching ever since.  

First Love Ministries with Shakema Wilson was birthed in November 2014.  From that birthing came Daughters of Grace, Titus 2 Women and Coffee & Conversation.  

What do you hope people will learn from you?

My heart is towards God's people with a specific focus on women.  I am or was born to be a wife and mother.  I teach women the value that they have as women. Once they understand that value I then teach them how to be good wives, good mothers, friends, sisters and daughters.  Then I release them to go into their sphere of influence and teach the same things.

Grocery Hauls

When I first started YouTube I was spending $25 per week to feed myself and my 2 kids (that were still at home). Over the years the Lord has blessed us to be able to not only increase our weekly budget for groceries BUT to also be able to save for "summer" groceries (during the months of the year that I am unemployed) AND to buy groceries for others when needed or directed by the Lord. You will need to have access to MS Excel. Once the file opens you will need to Enable Editing then save it in order to begin work. I recommend saving one "main" copy then saving with a new name after all edits are made. This way you always have a "fresh" copy to use at the beginning of each new budgeting month or cycle.

I never saw myself as a social media influencer. In fact I didn't even know that Youtube was a thing until the Lord told me to start a channel. A newly, single mom with children I couldn't even figure out how to feed but determined to be obedient to the Lord. Out of this obedience 1mom2girls2boys8inal was born.
